34-year-old Argentine midfielder Angel Di Maria of Turin Juventus, who has spent a significant part of his career in Europe, openly declares that he wants to return to his homeland to play.
“My big dream is to return to Rosario Central. I’ve been thinking about it for a long time and I really want to do it, but it’s not easy. Argentinian players dream of a European future, and I dream of returning to Rosario,” Angel di Maria told Conmebol’s official channel.
Rosario Central is Di Maria’s first club in his professional career. The midfielder of the Argentine national team was in its system from 2001-2007. Since then, Angel has played in Portuguese Benfica, Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Paris Saint-Germain, and in July, he moved to Juventus.
Di Maria played in a total of 7 matches with the shirt of the Italian club, scoring 1 goal and making 4 assists. The Argentine, who is currently injured, has a contract with Juventus until June 30, 2023. According to the latest information, Angel di Maria will be ready to help his national team in the upcoming World Cup 2022.
