Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka faces disqualification. The management of the team accuses him of violating the principles of the organization. The thing is, Udoka is accused of having a sexual relationship with a female member of the Celtics staff, which is against team policy.
If the 45-year-old coach is found guilty of the behavior mentioned earlier, he will have to leave his favorite job for at least one year. The ESPN analyst Adrian Wojnarowski disseminates the information, but Udoka has not commented yet.
It is known that the Celtics will open training camp on September 27. Due to the ongoing investigation of Udoka’s case, the team will be led by his assistant Joe Mazzulla.
Udoka’s career before the Boston Celtics
Initially, Ime Udoka started his coaching career in 2012 in San Antonio. He worked with the legendary Gregg Popovich for seven years, spent one season each in Philadelphia and Brooklyn, and, eventually, was appointed the head coach of the Boston Celtics in the 2021/22 season.
It should be noted that his work in the Celtics was very successful. The team played 51 games in the regular season and finished first in the Eastern Conference. The American specialist led Boston to the Super Finals for the first time since 2010, where they lost to Steph Curry’s Golden State Warriors.
